Julia graduated from Yale University with a Masters Degree in Mathematics. She has worked in fields of applied mathematics, including as a cryptographer for the National Security Agency and also in Fixed Income Research for Credit Suisse First Boston.
She took a break from the workforce to raise her two sons and became very active in their educations. She served as the president of the Parents’ Associations at both St. Philip’s Episcopal School in Coral Gables and at Ransom Everglades School in Coconut Grove. It was at Ransom that she got her start as a math tutor.
She has come to realize that she loves working with pure math more than its applications, and she loves helping others gain a better understanding of its concepts. She excels at explaining and clarifying difficult ideas to students of all ages.
