Finding Your Unique Solution

General Tutoring

General math tutoring sessions are most productive when students are aware of their trouble areas and the topics they find most challenging.

Before starting the session:

  • Take a few moments to reflect on the past week's assignments.
  • Show up prepared with an idea of where to focus.
  • Bring in the hard problems  - I'm here to help you get through it!

The session:

  • Focus on tackling new and upcoming topics.
  • Review or reteach a topic as necessary to reinforce the lesson.
  • Practice problems together and independently.

After finishing the lesson:

  • When requested, or if I see the need, I am also happy to prepare worksheets or summary sheets for students in anticipation of an upcoming test or quiz.

Test Specific Tutoring

Standardized test tutoring focuses more on timed practice, test-taking strategy, and review of topics revealed to be challenging. Homework is assigned and reviewed.
